Andrea is a member of the acclaimed BMI Lehman Engle Musical Theatre Writers Workshop in both the advanced songwriting workshop and librettists workshop. Her final musical projects from first and second year are now on Youtube! She is also a member of The Collective, a musical theatre incubation workshop funded by Theatrical Rights Worldwide.
Current Projects: Andrea’s show The Parts I Keep Inside (written with composer Jeffrey Schmelkin) will receive a developmental reading in NYC on October 22, 2025 with a Broadway-caliber cast and creative team, and is slated for further development.
Lilith: A New Musical co-written with Akaina Ghosh is also in development after having been named a semi-finalist in NAMT’s 2020 15-Minute Musical Contest.
Her environmental children’s musical Good Earth, commissioned by the City of Davis and the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District, which received a grant and development workshop from The University of Surrey in 2021, is on tour in northern California with Bike City Theatre Company.
Andrea also contributed music, lyrics, and voice acting to several animated educational shorts (a la Schoolhouse Rock!) commissioned by the State of California that will be released in the next year.
Acting: Since she graduated with her MFA in Acting from the University of Alabama, Andrea has worked at various theatres around the country, including Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre (Austen’s Pride – A New Musical), Capital Stage Company, Berkeley Playhouse (where she won a Theatre Bay Area Award for her portrayal of Hope in Urinetown), Davis Shakespeare Festival, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival (where she worked with the award-winning husband-wife composing team The Kilbanes), The Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville, Sacramento Theatre Company, and Maples Repertory Theatre. At TEXAS! Musical Drama she was also just crazy enough to volunteer to do fire stunts (yep, lighting yourself on fire-she volunteered to do that) under the coaching of professional stunt superstars Bill Boggs (Boggs FX) and Sherril Johnson. Unlike most of her other special skills, she cannot do this on command.
